Put the finished rug size on the order
When ordering a made-to-measure rug for a Cyprus room, ask whether the quoted dimensions describe the finished outside edge. Agree the material, edging, shape and final size together. A product quantity, an approximate room area and the dimensions of a completed rug are different pieces of information.
Begin with the intended position and the furniture that will remain around the rug. Tell the supplier whether the room plan is final or still changing. Ask who establishes and accepts the order dimensions. This guide concerns the purchase record. It does not prescribe a rug size, assess a particular floor or give instructions for cutting or finishing the material.
Describe the rug rather than the whole room
Give the supplier a clear reference for the intended rug and the location where it will be used. A plan can show the furniture and the area being considered, but the provider should confirm what information it needs before accepting a final order. Do not assume a room measurement means the rug should fill that whole area.
If a designer is involved, agree who supplies the final size to the retailer or maker. Keep the accepted revision with the order. A provisional rug outline on a mood board should remain provisional until the responsible parties confirm the actual dimensions. This is particularly useful when the furniture has not yet arrived or the layout is still being discussed.
Resolve the meaning of a size statement
For a simple example, an owner may request a rug described as 200 by 300 centimetres. Ask the supplier whether those are the completed outside dimensions or the dimensions of the textile before the agreed edge is finished. If the answer concerns a material size, request the finished dimensions explicitly. Do not calculate an adjustment yourself from a photograph of the edge.
Also ask how the maker records the orientation. A rectangular rug can be described with the same two numbers while its texture, pattern or construction has an intended direction. The supplier should identify any relevant condition for the actual product. Keep the accepted orientation with the final size so a later drawing does not accidentally reverse the intended order.
Select the edging with the material
Request the exact edging type, appearance and product reference where one is used. Ask whether the sample represents the edge offered for your selected material. A fabric cutting can show the texture without showing the complete finished border. Identify which aspects are confirmed and which you have only seen in a catalogue image.
Jacaranda's rug information provides one manufacturer example. It describes made-to-measure rugs and distinguishes several edging approaches, including hand-sewn, blind-hemmed, whipped and bordered finishes. Its sample information also distinguishes texture cuttings from different ways of showing edges. These are product and ordering examples, not evidence that the same finishes are available for every rug or through every supplier in Cyprus.
Ask for a sample that answers the remaining question
Tell the supplier whether you are deciding about texture, colour, border appearance or the relationship between two materials. Ask what sample or documented reference it can provide for that decision. A small cutting may be enough for one question while leaving another unresolved. Do not mark the complete order approved simply because one part of the selection looks right.
For a coordinated furnishings enquiry, Interiordesigner.cy is a useful starting point. Share the actual rug samples, the supplier's proposed edging and the intended furniture layout. A designer can be commissioned for a defined appearance decision while the supplier remains responsible for confirming the actual product, final dimensions and accepted order.
Price the finished product and delivery
Ask the quotation to identify the material, finished size, edging, making service and delivery arrangement. Request the complete price and any separate charge before comparing offers. A material price alone should not be compared directly with a completed-rug price containing additional work.
If a rug is made through a separate workshop, ask which business receives the order, accepts the payment and handles questions about the finished item. Keep the actual contact and service terms available. Do not assume a retailer's sample service and a maker's direct order use identical delivery or cancellation arrangements.
Include the final access arrangement
Ask where the delivery service finishes and what handling service is included. Identify the property access facts requested by the provider and ask it to establish the accepted route. A delivery to the building entrance is different from placing the rug in the intended room. Resolve the actual arrangement rather than assuming it forms part of a made-to-measure price.
If the room is being renovated, Renovate.cy provides a route for the wider work enquiry. Coordinate the rug's accepted delivery timetable with the responsible team. Keep the finished product away from an uncertain construction programme through an agreed arrangement, rather than relying on a provisional completion date that nobody has confirmed.
Save the accepted specification
Use a short order record containing the rug reference, material, colour, shape, orientation, edging and finished dimensions. Add the sample or catalogue references that formed the decision. Ask the supplier to identify any permitted variation relevant to the actual product. A general word such as bespoke should not leave the purchaser guessing what the maker has accepted.
Keep changes together. If the owner changes the border or the room layout before manufacture, request a revised specification and explanation of the consequences for size, price or programme. Do not carry an old dimension from a previous drawing into the final order by accident.
Complete the handover with product information
Ask for the information and care instructions relevant to the completed rug and its accepted construction. If a later cleaning enquiry is needed, Businesses.cy gives the owner a broader starting point for household services. Supply the actual product record and ask the provider to accept the specific task before arranging collection.
Read Jacaranda's edging information and rug sample and ordering guide as bounded manufacturer examples. Your supplier must confirm the actual order. A useful made-to-measure record makes the completed object clear before the material is cut, with the finished edge included in the decision.
